Audio Systems: bose door speakers/vette, zo6 vette, transistor packages


Question
is that an amp under the speaker or a crossover????   if it is a amp  can you tell me what all the wires are?

The above site has some clues for you.  Unfortunately, I don't know the system in your vette so well other than to say there are different implementations depending on year and series.  Also, Bose is known for being non-conforming in their designs and interface standards.

The pictures on the site above may help you identify which configuration you have.  Some have the amp in the speaker compartment; some do not.  But, for bi-amped systems it would make sense that amp would be near to the speaker and the crossover somewhere else.

You can tell the difference easily enough: An amp always has a heatsink with transistor packages mounted on the heatsink.  And, it is possible to design the crossover and amplifiers on the same board, but I don't think Bose does that for GM.
