Audio Systems: Audio: Receiver/Amplifier Connection, line level input, amp input

Question
Hi.  Thanks much for the advice.  Unfortunately, my problem with these particular receiver/amps (Technics) is that the only line level outputs they have are: "Tape Out" & "VCR Out".  When I go from one of these, to the EQ & then back out to any line level input (i.e., "Tape In" or "Aux In"), I have to select that piece of equipment on the amps function selector knob, resulting in only feedback.  There's no specific pre amp output/main amp input (like on a Marantz - normally "bridged" with jumpers) on these Technics.  Short of using 2 amp/receivers, which is what I'm doing now, I'm still at a loss.  Maybe it just can't be done.  Think of anything else I might try?   Many Thanks, E.G.

RE:  Technics SA-GX670 Receiver/Amplifier.  Hello.  A question for the sake of an old(er) "Baby-Boomer", still trying to enjoy component audio gear of days passed.  I'M ATTEMPTING TO INSERT AN EQUALIZER BETWEEN A NON-AMPLIFIED OUTPUT (PRE AMP OUT) & THE MAIN AMP INPUT WITH FRONT VOLUME CONTROL (TONE AMPLIFIER - ?) CONTINUING TO WORK.  My Marantz simply had "Preamp Out" & "Main Amp In" RCA connections on its rear panel.  Technics/Panasonic - not so simple.  If it's at all possible, how?

Out from back of receiver goes to IN on the EQ box; OUT on the EQ box goes to main amp in on back of receiver.

If you have a separate power amp, the eq merely goes between the output of the preamp/receiver and the input of the power amps.

This model does not have amp direct input?  With a jumper between the out and in?

Here is my suggestion; it will cost a few dollars.  Just purchase a standalone power amp and connect the eq from the receiver outputs to the input of the eq; the outputs of the eq to the inputs on the new receiver.

You can usually find pretty good amps that are superior to the amplifiers inside the receiver for under $100, depending on the power requirement.

Above are some examples of online choices.  Bestbuy, CircuitCity and RadioShack also have some pretty good prices.
