Audio Systems: Bose stereo, bose system, pontiac grand am

Question
I HAVE A 2001 PONTIAC GRAND AM WITH A BOSE SYSTEM.
WHEN I TURN THE RADIO ON THERE IS NO SOUND BUT YOU CAN STILL SEE THE STAION AND VOLUME..JUST NO SOUND TO ANY SPEAKERS...
I'VE BEEN TOLD IT MAY BE THE AMP AND IF I WANT TO REPLACE THE STEREO I SHOULD JUST GUT EVERYHTING...
WHAT IS THE PROBLEM AND HOW DO I FIX THIS...AND WHERE ID THE AMP LOCATED???

Answer
You have been informed correctly.
To suggest repairing a bose system would be like selling socks to someone with holes in their shoes!!
It is not cost effective and it would need a tech to look at it in person to see exactly what is wrong.
On a more direct repair approach, I would suggest checking the fuses on the vehicle. You may get lucky.
