Audio Systems: Ipod connection, boston acoustic speakers, headphone jack

Question
I have a Pionner DEH-4400 detachable face and they told me I can connect a audio cable direct from the back of my radio to an 8gb Ipod.  I bought those 3 in 1 FM transmitter but I do not really hear quality sound at all.  I have 6ow Boston acoustic speakers in the fornt with separate teeters and 150w Boston acoustic in te rear of a 199 HONDA CIVIC EX.

I do not know if is a regular headphone jack type connections in the back or a RCA type connection.
I would please appreciate if you can answer me back with  cheap options, because quoted a regular cable for $12.00 comparing to a FM transmitter for $49.95

Answer
there are a few different options.  there are:

1. aux input adapters.  these pipe any audio source into the stereo directly with RCA wires.

2. FM transmitter. these broadcast any sourse over a radio station to be picked up and played by the stereo.

3. IPOD adapters, these plug into your stereo and your ipod and transfer the sound right from the ipod to the stereo, most charge your ipod's batter as well.

4. IPOD controllers.  these are the same as the ipod adapter but allow you to controll the ipod from your stereo (change tracks, show song titles on the stereo's screen, etc)

the adapter cable specific for your model cd player can be seen here:

there's also this page that has the IPOD controller for pioneer but I'm not 100% sure it works with your cd player:

hope that helps!
