Audio Systems: building a free air system, qlogic box, ma audio subs

i have a 92 century,need specs on making a freeair system.installing 4 500wt MA Audio subs & a 600 wt fosgate amp,will i get enough thump from it ?currently I'm running 2 in a Qlogic box with that amp in my ford,sounds nice. I plan on installing a capacitor also and some horns  in the buick .I need help too wake up my neigborhood . I,am  36 with 2 kids trying to relive my youth again thanxs

well, to sucessfully get a freeair setup to work the speakers have to be on some kindof dividing wall that is closed off from one area to the other side. in other words if you built a wall in your car that was sealed where the back of the subs would vent into the trunk area, etc.  a free air setup isnt just having the subs without a box, it still needs to have isolation from the back of the sub and the front of the sub. (I think I'm wording this poorly so sorry if it doesnt make much sense)  also the speakers have to be the right kind for this setup,  you cant just take any old speakers and use them for free air.  I think you're refering to these speakers:

You'd probably have a much better setup if you put them in a box.
