Audio Systems: AR wireless speakers, interference problem, speaker boxes

Question
Get a 'popping' sound every so often on the right channel. Have them hooked up to a 37" Magnovox with the speaker outputs. Couldn't find an audio out to use.

Answer
Are you certain it is only the right channel?  Often, the pop noise will be heard on both channels, but the left is much lower and, therefore, not as noticeable.

Here is what you should do in order to isolate the problem:

ONE:  Turn the volume down at the tv to zero and see if you are still getting the pop sound.  Then, disconnect the right channel output at the back of the tv to see if you still get it.  The purpose is to determine if the pop is coming out of the tv or from the wireless transmitter or receiver circuit.

ALso, try with the transmitter OFF and the speakers ON, etc.

WHY: Because the pop noise could be coming from the tv, from the transmitter, from the receiver, from the amp in the speaker boxes OR from radio frequency intereference from the outside.

SO: The object is to satisfy yourself where the pop is coming from and how it is getting into the system.  Then, once you have determined the source of the pop deciding what must be done to rectify the problem.

It may be an interference problem; something in the home that switches ON periodically, like a refrigerator, furnace, fish tank heater, etc.

Then, let me know more, if needed, when you have narrowed it down.

Good Luck,
