Audio Systems: CAR STEREO, power to the amplifier, power amp

Question
I RECENTLY HAD A STEREO FITTED AND MY MUSIC WAS PLAYING AND THEN IT WENT OFF THE LIGHT COMES ON BUT NO SOUND OR TRACK DETAILS I'VE CHECKED THE FUSE AND WIRING NO LOOK ADVICE PLEASE

Answer
If all the functions and lights seem to be working properly and there is not audio the problem may be:

ONE: If you have a separate power amp it may have its fuse open.  Or, it may be in protection mode. If so, you can reset it by removing power to the amplifier for a few minutes, then power it up again.  OR, it may have lost the 12v switching line from the head end. You can check it if you have a voltmeter by measuring the voltage at the amp.

TWO: If you do not have a separate amp, the in-dash unit may need to be reset OR it may have gone into protection.

THREE: In both cases above if there is a shorted condition on any one of the speaker wirings it can cause it to shut down.  This must be checked by someone who knows how to check them out with a meter.

Hope this will help.
