Audio Systems: nissan bose stereo, nissan bose, bose systems

Question
I have a 96 nissan maxima with a bose system.  My problem is that I am unable to turn the power of the deck on.  When I turn the key to ACC or ON the stereo lights up, but can not get power.  It is a factory system, all fuses are good. Any ideas of what I can do.  also I am not sure on how to remove the deck so if you have info on that it would be great.

Answer
trying to understand exactly whats going on here.  it sounds like only the back lighting is working?  in other words the unit is completely non responsive,  no display (other than just the back light)  no other lights work on the unit,  the screen shows nothing, etc?
The bose systems are a real pain. They are also prone to breaking over and over, when repaired. you will probably have alot of problems if you just change to a new aftermarket cd player.  I usually recomend gutting everything (factory speakers, factory wiring, factor amp, factory cd player, EVERYTHING) and starting over.  if you want to try to send the cd player portion to a repair place, these guys suposedly specialize in bose repair.

looks like for your problem they're going to want about 200 bucks minimum plus S&H

With the chance of it breaking again shortly after being fixed, its up to you but I'd rather sink another 300 (500 total) into doing new speakers and a new cd player and get rid of all the blose stuff.
