Audio Systems: Tool Shaped Radio, jobsite radio, tradeshow promotions

Question
My husband is a carpenter and I would like to find a portable radio shaped like a tool.  I have heard that they exist, but don't know where to find them.  Do you have any idea where to find them.  I live in MI

Answer
Well, THAT'S not a question i've been asked before!

Kudos to you, that's a pretty good gift idea.

I know what you're talking about but, to my knowledge, those "tool shaped radios" are not the kind of thing for which there is some definate "Tool Radios Inc." manufacturer out there.
They are most often novelty items, mostly small-run productions from China of promotional materials for trade-show giveaways and to be packaged in with some tool set (i.e. "buy this 6 wrench set and get a novelty circular saw radio for free")

I might scan various brands of tool/construction equipment manufacturers to see what's availible (or cruise your local Lowes/Home Depot)
-Black and Decker
-Craftsman
-Bosch
-Stihl
-Rockler
-John Deer
-etc.

The other place you might find them would be through those online 'Executive/Business Gifts' or 'Tradeshow Promotions' places (like promopeddler.com) that sell thousands of wares they can put corporate logos on.  One of them may have something similar.

I was also surprised at the variety I could call up simply be Googling "Novelty Radio", "Shop Radio", "Workshop Radio",  etc.

I should warn you that the research I did to make these recommendations didn't bring up a single item I would consider "high quality".  If you're looking to treat someone with a nice sounding radio for a shop or a durable jobsite radio that takes batteries there are plenty of other recommendations I might make, such as:

If you meet with success please let me know, I may have to steal your gift idea for someone on my list!

I wish you luck!
