Audio Systems: playing cds, illuminite, laser beam

Question
i have a xd6110 illuminite or something in a car i just bought used. i just bought 3 new CDs over the past week, the first one worked fine, the second one did not work in the cd player in my car but would work in the cd player of my moms car and finally the third one worked fine. so how come the second one doesn't work in my cars cd player?

Answer
This is not unusual.  Especially for older cd players. Automobile environments are very severe and it is common for the player mechanisms to become badly aligned due to heat, vibration, etc.  When this happens the tracking of the laser beam becomes out of focus and it cannot track as good as it should.  Also, cds are pressed at different factories and track differently in different players.
