Audio Systems: watts, poor investment, kindof

Question
Well, his music is rap, thats basically it.  We have already had a new cd player put it, its not stock, so thats taken care of.  Basically, i have no idea about any of this AT ALL! So, asking you is my only way.  I just want it to beat hard, sound good, and not blow out..Can you tell me the average stuff to get.  Or what to put together?  Im buying the whole system off of ebay, its brand new and still in packaging.  When i was reading through it, it kept telling me different watts and i was like WHAT? DUH!!

-----Question-----
Hi. i am buying a system for my boyfriend and i am kind of lost as to how much wattage should be in each item.  i want it to sound pretty damn good!!  So, i have one that i am looking at and i was wondering what you think...the speakers have 3000 watts mx power, normal power 750 watts (these are pioneer tsw3004 12 in spL) he drives a loncoln towncar and i want to know the wattage of everything that i should get.  PLEASE HELP!
-----Answer-----
hmmm.  dont exactly know how to answer your question since "wattage" is just 1 statstic and doesnt have alot to do with sounding "pretty damn good".  Its kindof like shopping for a new car and all you will tell the salesman is that it must be red.  if you buy a car based soley on the fact that its red, chances are it's not goign to make you very happy.  to continue my analogy there's other statics:

Price
Performance
size/room
manufacurer's reputation
Miles per gallon
Hauling ablility
how many seats the car has
Comfort
Warrenty
dependability
safety
ETC.

In other words, when you invest in something it needs to match your needs or its a poor investment (or present).

Your budget

Who's installing it and building the box and their installation experience

I'm not saying that what you picked out is good bad or otherwise, I'm just saying that when you get something for someone, and you spend alot of money on it, and it's something they are going to have for a long time, it should fit their needs.
Please write back with the answers to these questions and I'll be happy to help you pick out componenets.  I highly sugest that you consider changing the cd player in his car as well since this will make a huge difference,  just adding an amp and subs to an old factory radio will sound just like an old factory radio with some bass overtop, plus will have other limitations and/or problems.
I look forward to hearing back from you.

Answer
good! the cd player will make a huge difference.
as for the other stuff,  I see you included the model number of the subs so that's great,  I need the make and model of the amp if I'm going to be able to see if its a good match.  For the most part it looks like these subs are Dual 4 ohm subs rated for 750Watts RMS.  so if you get 2 of them (you didnt say how many you were getting so I'm guessing) you can wire them as either a 1 or 4 ohm load.  so you are looking for an amp that puts out 1500 watts RMS into a 1 ohm load, or you are looking for an amp that puts out 1500 watts RMS into a 4 ohm load. Just find an amp with those or very close to those ratings.  DONT go by the peak or max power!
Get a good 2 gauge wiring kit too. Dont get 4 gauge or 8 gauge.
