Audio Systems: kenwood amp cuts off at high bass, kenwood amp, pioneer subs

Question
the new system killed my battery today had to buy a new 1,i was told the pioneer subs could not be set to 1 ohm, about the box, was wondering if bandpass or sealed is better in a suv type vehicle, your right on the "do it right the first time"saying.musicical preferance is rap and jus very deep hard hitting bass.theres somthin wrong with the stereo thow the bass and highs work with the deck on cd, but not on tuner, all my highs and subs are hooked up to amps, i hooked a tweet to the deck on tuner and it worked fine,if u now wat it could be please let me no. thx for all the help so far.

the pioneer did seam like it beat harder at full power but it shut off even at half power, the subs are single voice coil pioneers, and the lights dim bad to nelly pimp juice, they dim even when the radio is barly up,the gauge goes from half power to the red under querter power every time that low bass beats from pimp juice.the pioneer subs dont sound right thow when i turn the bass boost up the bass sounds disstorted, does the box matter i have a jeep cherokee and im using a sealed box, also the new niche amp is 750 rms at 2ohm.im thinking of switching the subs thow,do u have any recomendations that would work well with that new amp?,subs that are not that expensive? thanks for the help.

probably a bad ground or other wiring/electrical problem.  Check the ground wire first. make sure the black ground wire on the amplifier is the same guage as the posative wire and that it's VERY firmly attached to the metal of the car.  The proper way to ground an amp is to drill a hole through the car, sand all the paint off both sides of the metal (make it shine) and bolt the ring terminal down with a large bolt and nut on the other end.  I like to put a littl paint over top to prevent rust.
Try this first.  if that doesnt help let me know what gauge wire you're using and double check that the posative is bolted tight to the battery,  also tell me if your lights dim to the beat significantly or not.
Thanks

the capacitor will help alot if the lights dim in a plusating manner.  if you are playing something with a punchy beat like techno and the lights dim to the beat, the capacitor will help alot.  But if you play something like "pimp juice" from nelly that has constant long droning bass, the capacitor wont help as much as a rear battery will help.  if the lights dim in both ways, then I'd get both, the rear battery and capacitor.
you know the other thing i realized is this....  I should've asked you what version the pioneers were, the dual voicecoil or single.  cuz if you have 2 of the dual 4 ohm ones, that would be a 1 ohm load which the kenwood isnt designed to run,  it's only supose to be hooked to a 2 ohm load. if you have the single voice coil pioneers, they would form a 2 ohm load which actually the new amp you got is only rated for 600w RMS at 2 ohms and the kenwood was rated for 850w rms at 2 ohms.
to sum it up, if you have the Single Coil subs you have less power now than you did before.  If you have the duals then I see now why the kenwood kept shutting off and I'm sorry I didnt ask you that.
Let me know about specifically how the lights dim though,  you could risk damage to your alternator or car's computer if you keep that up though, so we need to do something about it.

well the box matters ALOT!!! actually the box has alot more to do with how the subs sound than the subs themselvs.
Lets just say this,  if you have enough money to be thinking about new amps and new subs. you should take the time to do it right the first time.  you should consider your musical prefrence, your budget, your space, etc. and build the right system for you.   if you want help, let me know what these are and I'll recomened some options for you.  I think you're in a good spot to start over and just get it right this time, know what I mean?
Let me know if you have box building experience and/or if you have a table saw cuz you shouldnt build a box with hand tools.  if you're not going to build a box, what were you thinking of doing for it (prefab or custom shop box?)
hope to hear from you again!

Answer
you'll be lucky if you didnt do damage to your alternator putting a load like that on it. I'd be suprised if there isnt a problem with the alternator anyway.  and that battery probably already had a problem with it too if the power was dipping that low with the amp runing.
IF everything works except the tuner, then I'd say its something wrong in the radio.  unless you just hear static all the time, then I'd check the antenna.
As for the box,  I hate bandpass boxes in general so that's my answer on that one,  they sound like booming mud.
