Audio Systems: Front aux input, sony cdx gt200, plug cords

Question
I own a Sony CDX-GT200 Radio, and lately, the aux input only plays my music out the right side speakers.  I have made sure that the balance on the speakers is in the middle.  I have also made sure that the iPod is playing music on both sides, just not the right.  Also, both sides work when I use the CD player, and the radio.  I haven't even had the radio for a full year yet.  I have gone through three 3.5mm plug-3.5mm plug cords, thinking that the cord was the problem. Do you know any way I can fix the aux myself, or should I have it replaced?

Answer
sounds like the jack on the stereo has failed, probably due to poor soldering on the pins attaching the jack to the circuit board. if you can get stereo apart enough to get to the back of the jack, and if you're good at soldering, i'd give it a go. if not, replace stereo, as getting yours fixed could be quite expensive, even though the jack is at fault...
