Audio Systems: wire harness for a 2001 lexus is 300, lexus is 300, wire colors

Question
Let me start off to say that I have a 2001 Lexus IS 300 and I am attempting to hook up an aftermarket head unit. I have had experience before with splicing wires so I figured this time it would be no problem as well. Well I was wrong. If you can help me it would be greatly appreciated. I'm use to the ground wire being black, ignition wire being red, and the battery wire being yellow... well that's not the case with the factory wire harness. The ground wire is brown. The battery wire is Blue/yellow. The ignition wire is gray. I hooked them all up and for some reason my JVC head unit is still not getting enough juice. But when I accidently hit the battery wires with the ignition wires it had full power even with the key out of the ignition. Normally when my JVC head unit is hooked up properly and you press the power button it says "hello", and when you turn it off it says "see you"... well with the ground, battery and ignition wires connected, I pressed the display button and the clock came on, so it is gettin power but when I went to press the power button it says "see you" and cuts off. I am obviously missing something here. I looked up the rest of the wire harness color codes online and it told me certain colors other than what I have in my lexus.

this is a list of what i found online...

radio memory = blue/yellow
radio switched = gray
radio ground = brown -

front right speaker positive = light green
front right speaker negative = n/a
front left speaker positive = pink
front left speaker negative = violet

rear right speaker positive = red
rear right speaker negative = white
rear left speaker positive = black
rear left speaker negative = yellow

Answer
SORRY I DON'T HAVE MUCH INFO IN THAT VEHICLE BUT I KNOW THAT THEWRE IS A FACtory amplifier in the right side of the vehicle and you have to remove it before you can install a new head unit that unit also controls the power for the radio so it will be best to bypass that unit also black or brown are not the grounds it is dark tan or metal chasis
good luck
sorry i can not help you more
