Audio Systems: stereo cuts out and shuts off, alpine type x, rms output

Question
i bought all alpine stuff from visions and they installed everything. i have touch screen dvd player factory door speakers, 2 alpine type x 12inch subs and 2 pdx 1000.1 amps, now my problem is after i warm it up (vilume goes from 0-35) and i can normally turn it to about 22 but aNYTHING after that everything just shuts off how ever it does turn back on but if i dont turn down the volume it will cut out again. the vehicle is a honda civic 2 door 2004. i think that i dont have enough power running the system but then again i was told could b the ground. any way ive spent 6k on this thing and i love it and its loiud but if it can go louder thats wat i wanna hear. i want to hear its full potential. so please i wanna do the best for my stereo but save money to. any thing u could say would b helpful. thanks

Answer
Simple answer:
The gains on the amps/crossovers are set too high to allow full volume.
Personally, it sounds as if they want to back in there buying replacement gear (and soon).

Take it back to them and tell them you want it setup so that it you can use all of the volume range.
The reasons are:
No shutdowns.
System longevity.
System protection from clipping.
Better dynamics and clarity throughout the volume range.

If YOU have changed the gain structure of the system, you should return the levels to what they were at the time it was finished by them.

You (nor anyone) will not get a single additional DB by turning them up past where they should be set (and that is a point that gives you RMS output at very near full volume on the headunit).

I hope this helps, and it is very suprising (not to mention un-professional) if they delivered it to you set up as it is now.
