everything works fine with the radio, except you can't tell what station you are on. The display doesn't show anything!! It is the factory radio.

Most common problem on that vehicle. The display module in the head unit is prone to burning out. Lots of shops advertise on-line and on e-bay that fix this problem for a flat rate. Check them out, should be pretty cheap. You'll have to buy some ford radio removal tools from a car audio dealer or pep-boys...
