Audio Systems: turn table hookup, line level inputs, tape decks

Question
i have a old luxman automatic turntable with a white and red audio hook up cords. i want to know what to hook it up to so i can get some sound out of it.

Answer
you have to hook it up to inputs on a stereo that are dedicated 'phono' inputs, or if all you have is line level inputs,(designed for tape decks, cd players) you will need to get a 'phono level to tape level amp' to make the record player's output high or strong enough to drive the tape or any other than phono inputs. i know radio shack used to sell them, but you might have to search the internet to find one, since unfortunately for a lot of us, records have become so  obsolete.
