Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): how to wire an b&s m# 215707-0310, assembly drawings, appropriate boxes

Question
How do i wire up my new b&s engine 215707-0310 to my Toro mower model 56145 s# 7002449. I have tried to wire it up the otherday and realized the black wire coming off the coil is the stop wire (where dose this go?) and two wires (yellow and orange) coming out of the back of the engine, Iam assuming these are the alternator

Answer
Hello Matt:

The Coil Shut Off wire is Grounded to Stop the Coil from Firing the Plug. It is Connected to the Ign Switch Terminal that is Grounded when in the Off Position ONLY. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/default.cfm and Select Start Parts Viewer. Now Enter the Model Numbers (56145). Now Select View Assembly Drawings. Now Select the Engine Assembly File. There is a Wiing Diagram for the Mower in this File. The Color Codes are Different because the Engine is Not One of those Listed as Being on the Mower from the Manufacturer. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Unit at this Site Addy; http://www.briggsandstratton.com/maint_repair/manual_and_more/doclist.aspx?categ... and Enter the Model Numbers (XXXXXX) and Type Numbers (XXXX) in the Appropriate Boxes and Click GO. Then Select Download PDF. The Following is the Site Addy for Briggs Stators. Is it Possible the Orange Wire is a Red Wire? http://www4.briggsandstratton.com/miscpdfs/RNT/alternator_id.pdf . If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
