Audio Systems: Crgar lighter not working on Eclips GSX, amp fuse, 12 gauge

Question
Crgar lighter not working on Eclips GSX. I located checked and replaced the fuse and the lighter(a new one). I think the hot wire is broken somewhere in the thousand wires on the car. What is the easiest way to run a new hot wire?

Answer
i guess the easiest way would be to run a 12 gauge stranded type wire from battery with 15 amp fuse to lighter through firewall. be sure to use a grommet where wire goes through firewall to avoid damaging and shorting wire and possibly causing a fire. you probably have a burned 'fusible link' which is a specific gauge section of wire designed to fail if there's a short, or something pulls too much current. if you can find it, auto parts shops sell sections of the different fusible links, but you have to know what size to replace it with, without a factory issued wiring harness diagram it's almost impossible to locate, identify and replace....good luck in your endeavor.....
