Audio Systems: Older Denon car audio question, rca inputs, laser intensity

Question
Hi Kelly,
I am trying my best to hold onto a great mid 90's audio system. I have a Denon DCR-930 cassette head unit and a Denon DCH-500 5 disk changer. I found out after installing the changer that it wont play CD-R's, or it will start to play them then 'fuzz out' and loose tracking. I have tried every trick I know like slow recording speed and buying a Plextor CD burner using varirec. While this helps a little, it will still loose tracking after a while. Is there any way to turn up the laser intensity or refocus it to be more compatable? It does work better on a hot day it seems, also.. Thanks, and if you know anyone else that can help me out, point me to them!

John

Answer
If it's just CD-Rs that you ahve a problem with, why not skip that and get a portable MP3 player (ipod). You should have RCA inputs on that  high-line Denon, and you can just use the changer for regular Cd play. Simple, and won't make you change your system. If you don't have RCA inputs, Belkin makes a nice FM modulator/DC charger for the ipod that I use myself.
