Audio Systems: Lexus CD player not working, lexus es300, stock stereo

I have a Lexus es300 with the stock stereo system in it.  The CD player works, it recognizes the CD's, plays them, but on the control panel when I push the CD button it does not switch to the CD player.  I can't play my CD's!  If I am listening to AM and turn on the CD player with the remote all stations become static.  Do you know what's going on?  Thanks.

The controller logic is either corrupted or the controller IC circuitry has gone bad.

You can try a hard reset to see if the will cure it; if not, you must have it serviced or replaced.

A hard reset is done by removing battery power by lifting the plus cable from the battery under the hood.  Keep it off for at least .5 hours before powering up again.

If your radio has the anti-theft code be sure you have the code for repowering - otherwise you may never get it going again.
