Audi Repair: Fast blinking turn signal, wattage bulb, left turn signal

Hello, All lights in my 1999 Audi-A6 Quattro turn on fine (no burned bulbs), but my left turn signal blinks fast. Dealer suspects relay or improper bulb seating. Pls advise on means of chking for this. Thx

The relay switch speed is dependent on the load that is being switched.  A fast blinking rate is almost always due to a bulb being out in the circuit, check all the bulbs by switching the hazard lights on and verifying that all the turn signals and repeaters are functional.  If any bulbs were recently replaced, check that the correct wattage bulb was used.  If the bulbs are sidelight/turn signal combination bulbs, make sure they are inserted the correct way around.
