Sure, you need a power supply that can generate 12-14.4 volts at 10 amps reliably.  Radioshack has a few models (up to 25 amps) that will do the job nicely.  they go for 60-100 bucks. like this one:

a cheaper solution is to get a computer power supply which some people have old computers laying around so it's free.  the computer power supply option is less expensive even if you have to buy one and has more current. the drawbacks are that the pc power supply will have a ton of wires that you dont need so there will be a big mess of wires hanging out of it.  if that doesnt bother you this one:

is 60 bucks and puts out 34 amps at 12 volts.

let me know which way you want to go and I'll be happy to help you hook it up.

Answer
ok, but as I was saying, it really needs to be able to provide 10 solid amps.  a little "brick" power plug rated for 1000 mili amps (1 amp) wont cut it at all.
all you need to do is connect the negative of the power supply to the negative/ground of the stereo.  these are usually a black wire for both the stereo and power supply.
next you will need to connect the posative from the power supply (usually red) to the 2 posatives of the stereo, these are usually a yellow and a red. (refer to the stereo's manual if there is not a standard red and yellow on the cd player)
connect the speakers and turn it on, that's it!

Good luck!!!
Let me know how it goes.
