Audio Systems: no audio, fuse boxes, chevy dealer

2003 Chevy Suburban with Bose Radio system and factory installed DVD. We lost all audio but radio still works and DVD still has picture. Door chimes also quit working as well.

Answer
This is a real troubleshooting scene.  You will need a voltmeter to track down where the voltage to the door chimes and the audio amplifier is getting lost.

Check both fuse boxes first; one in the engine compartment and one inside under the dash.

This could be a nasty one, so if you are not very technical or don't want to get under the dash  and mess around you will need to take it to a repair shop (not the chevy dealer; they don't know anything about this level of failure).
