Audio Systems: car amp, pioneer 6x9 speakers, pioneer web site

Question
i have a pioneer gm3200 300 watt amp with 2 tsa6991r pioneer 6x9 speakers is it ok to bridge the amp to these speakers

Answer
The Pioneer web site is down - can't access the technical bulletins.

BUT:  It is a stereo amp and you have two speakers, so why not just drive each speaker with one channel of the amp.

The speakers you have are medium power units (in spite of the outrageous power claims) and the gm3200 is about right for driving them to good levels.

If you have TWO amps, then you can bridge each of them and drive the speakers with more power, but in my opinion it will be too much power.

In multiway speakers it is common for the tweeters to burn out too quickly when high power is put to them.  So, be careful.
