Audio Systems: New audio noise, engine whine, factory radio

Question
Hi, Jake:

i just installed Jensen 9511TS into my 96 ES300 today, and hit a problem.  When I start the engine (stay at one place), and the audio sounds ok.  But if I drive around, and the audio start having some noise, which follow the throttle.  If I drive fast with some throttle, the noise is lounder.  Can you help me to find out what is the reason to cause those noise?

Answer
You have what they call "engine whine".  Try getting a better ground for your radio.  Usually somewhere solid metal on the chassis of the car is going to be better than the factory radio ground wiring.  You can also use and inline power wire noise filter.  They sometimes help in reducing the noise.  Another consideration is to have your alternator checked out.  Sometimes they are on the borderline of going bad and start to cuase all kinds of noise with different audio systems.
