Question -
WHEN I TURN ON MY PREMIER PIONEER CAR STEREO CD PALYER UNIT IT PLAYS MUSIC FOR ABOUT 3-5 SECONDS AND IT GOES OUT.  WHEN I TAKE OFF THE FACE AND PUT IT BACK ON, IT PLAYS AUDIO FROM THE CD OR EVEN THE RADIO TUNER BUT GOES OUT IN SECONDS.  WHAT COULD IT BE? IS IT THE PLAYER ITSELF OR IS IT MY AMP THATS GOING OUT OR THATS BAD?

Answer -
does the music go out but the cd player just keeps playing like nothing happened or does the screen on the cd player go out as well?  how is your amp hooked up, is it running all the door speakers or just a sub or what?

Thanks!

Answer
watch the light on the amp and see if it goes out our if the amp goes into protect mode if it has a light signifying that.  try putting the system on and when the music turns off remove the remote wire from the amp, let it sit for a minute but dont turn the cd player off.  touch the remote wire back to the amp and the music should come back ,  this would show that the cd player's RCA's are still outputting to the amp but the amp shuts off so the problem is in the amp if this happens.
does the system shut off quicker at high levels and play longer before shutting off if you keep it quiet or the same?
