Audio Systems: Amp, ohm models, 4 ohms

Question
In a previous question you informed me that my amp wasn't able to push my 2ohm bridge which is probably the case but you also suggested ," A good resolve is to use twin 8ohm models in parallel for a 4 ohm mono (bridged) load on the amp. .. How do I do this? Thanks .. Nick

Answer
Well Nick,
IF you do have two 4 ohm speakers...(and it sounds like you 'probably' do), the cure (to attain a 4 ohm, mono, bridged load) involves replacing them with 8 ohm models, then wiring them in series/bridged mode. Of course, this will create  some unexpected purchases.

In the short term, what I would do for now is either:
Run two 4 ohm loads in stereo (non bridged).
or
Run the pair of 4 ohms's in series (for an 8ohm load on the amp) if you are wanting to use bridged mode.
*They will receive the same power from the amplifier wired either way.

I hope this helps you understand what I meant.
Feel free to ask more questions if you need more advice.

Sincerely,
Jerry Mael
