Audio Systems: Ford Radio Display, ford radio, lcuk

Question
Ernesto, Ciao:

I followed the instructions you gave someone else regarding the removal of the power board just left of the CD changer in the 1999 ford radio with intermittent display.

I got the radio out ok, took the top off, removed the screw in the rear attached through the case and into a brass looking fitting. However, the board seems to be held by something else.

Also, on my unit, there is a metal shroud over the power board.

Just fiddling with trying to get it out brought back the display, so I'm assuming it is a cold solder joint.

If I can get the board out...I can solder.

Thanks,

Ralph

Answer
GOOD JOB YES THAT IS THE PROBLEM COLD SOLDER

in front of the board next to the 2 capacitors  or lef of the plug there is a piece of metal bend in to the board holding it
there is a another metal bend in the midle of the board  go in by the hole in the metal shroud
