We have a 1999 Buick Lasabre.  When you insert a tape into the tape deck it will eject and reinsert the tape two times then on the third time it displays an error code of E00.  Please advise me what the problem is and if this can be corrected.

The transport mechanisms for tape decks are not all the reliable.  If the capstan starts to slip or the brakes on the feed and/or tape up reel in the mechanism get out of whack they cause things like this.

You will need a good tech who knows how to adjust and realign the tape mechanism. It will cost quite alot and since the unit is already 7 years old and nearing its end of useful life you may want to think about a replacement rather than a repair.

The error code is coming up because the mechanism is not progressing and the servo system of the deck handling electronics has detected it as an error.
