First, thank you kindly for such a timely and informative reply; it's truly appreciated.
Second, I apologize: I forgot to mention that I have a Bose CD Changer in the trunk hooked up to the audio unit, and the link of the auxillary plug is for a system that does not have that hooked up.  Is there another way of doing this?  What about a "Y" connection with the CD Changer?  Thank you very much!

Question -
I have a factory installed Bose system and do not know if it has an "audio in" or auxillary input to connect my PDA/Phone to the stereo system for quality calls, navigation and MP3 playing.  Does this system have it? If so, where is the female input located and what type? If not, what can I install to create this link? Thank you very much.

Answer -
yes but you need a plug and interface

if you use a y and remove the cd changer for a few seconds the radio is not going to open the audio port because the cd changer is not there it needs the cd changer
