Audio Systems: 1995 Ford Probe CD Installation Question!, pioneer cd player, sony cd player

Hi, My father has just given me a 1995 Ford Probe, it has had a Pioneer CD player in it for the past 2 years. I have removed the Pioneer system to return back to my stepmother who had owned the car. I am trying to install a SONY CD PLAYER (you can view it at: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4694339). For some reason you can't hear anything when all the wires are color cordinated. I am completely Baffled, The Pioneer CD Player still works and you can hear the CD playing, but the Sony shows everything is working, but says FAILURE on the screen when it plays, what's wrong? what am I doing wrong? What can I do about it!?

i hope you don't mean you wired sony color to color with the pioneer as wire colors from brand to brand (even model to model sometimes) are NOT universal. i hope you didn't do permanent damage to the new sony. i'd research the pioneer for it's wiring color scheme, then wire sony function to function instead of by color to color. good luck...
