Audio Systems: in-dash CD player, single cd player, isuzu trooper

Hi Kelly:

My 98 Isuzu Trooper has an in-dash 6 CD player. Recently it has taken to not playing or ejecting the CD's. Is this an indicator of old age and time for a new one? Or is there something that can be done?

Most in-dash 6 players create lots of heat, and have many moving parts. This makes them expensive, and time consuming to repair. I would just replace it, possibly with a single CD player, but an ipod-ready unit, as this will be far cheaper, and more useful in the future.
