Audio Systems: Anti-Theft Systems on Integra, antenna wire, fuse box

Question
I changed the battery on my Integra and since then the antenna hasnt gone down because the radio isnt responsive due to the anti-theft system. I'm considering changing my standard integra car radio system for a new cd deck. Will my antenna go down when I install the new cd deck?

Answer
Yes, if you get a compatible replacement unit.

But, your antenna probably has a fuse blown.  Please check the fuse box under your hood and the one under the dash near the steering column.  If you don't find a bad fuse, there may be one in the antenna wire line.

And, if you are thinking to replace the head unit because you cannot defeat the security-theft system, I suggest you call the manufacturer who can obtain the access code and get it fired up again.  Some dealers charge a small fee for the code, but some do not.  Typical is $25 to restore the set.  They will get the security  code and you punch in the numbers on the front panel and wala, you are back in business.  AND, the antenna may work just fine once the head unit is back working again.

PS:  You should use www.crutchfield.com to help select compatible radio/cd head units for your car.  That way you can get a unit and wiring harness that will work well with the Integra.
