Audio Systems: what to do about amps, series array, watt rms

Question
I just built the box for my f150 and i have 2 jl12w6 subs. I have never installed a system so i dont know much about what to do for my amp or amps should i run 2ohms or 4ohms? whats the difference? should I use 1 amp per sub or 1 amp for both. like i said i know nothing about amps so anything will help

Answer
It will depend on the configuration.. how they are wired, what the enclosure parameters are (including selaed or ported), the power used, your listening tastes and your performance expectations.
I believe the V1's of that model are 300 watt RMS.

Since you are new at installs, youi might want to check this page for loading info and power required/used.

Alternately, you could provide me with all of this info and I should be able to give you some more specific advice.

I would suggest a single amp.
In a nutshell, if they are 4 ohm each, I would use series array for an 8 ohm load on the amp (if you are after longevity and good performance).
The more power you use on them the more important separate air chambers become.
