Audio Systems: Car Stereo, jeep stereo, speaker hole

Question
The sound on my Jeep stereo will go out when I hit a bump while driving. I pulled the system out and re-connected all of the wiring. This helped somewhat but it is still happening. I don't lose power, just sound. Any ideas on what might be happening?

Thanks!
Scott

Answer
either the deck has a bad solder joint inside (replace it) or one speaker wire is shorting to ground (or another speaker wire) somewhere. Try disconnecting one pair of wires at the deck at a time, test on the trail/road and see if it goes away. Speakers sometimes can become loose and short the terminals against the speaker hole as well.
