Audio Systems: 91 nissan maxima, crackling noise, nissan maxima

i just bought a 91 nissan maxima and the raidio comes on and goes and makes a crackling noise around the fuse box area . please help

Sounds like someone's made a mess of the fusebox before you bought it. Look for dangling wires, fuse taps, or anything that does not look original. The crackling might be a damaged or loose relay as well. Try looking at one in a salvage yard (pick your part, etc...) to see what it is supposed to look like, and if you need parts.
