Answer
You should not rely on the wiring diagram; it is only generic and putting in a sound system is best done by tracing down the wires directly with an ohmmeter so you KNOW which wires go where.

Walmart is the best place; they have a simple little VOM for $9.83 and it is perfect for checking the 12 volt system wires to the head unit and/or amp.  The ohmmeter section allows you to verify which wires go to which speaker.

A wiring harness can be pruchased for this car, but you should still check the wiring out carefylly with the ohmmeter to make absolutetly certain where it is all going.  Hooking up the unit to a wrong wiring scheme is the kiss of death for the output transistors.

Crutchfield.com has your harness at $9.99; a bargain.

Also, you can learn alot about how to install and wire at

www.installdr.com

http://installdr.com/InstallDocs/Toyota/PDF/869037.pdf

is the wiring information for your car.  BUT: I repeat, don't rely on these informations soley; get the ohmmeter and check everything out perfectly before you fire it up; then you won't be blowing out the 8 power transistors!

ANd good luck!
