Audio Systems: subwoofer and amp placement for ford explorer, ford explorer eddie bauer, explorer eddie bauer

Question
Hi , I have a 94 ford explorer (eddie bauer) and Im tring to find a place to put 2 15" subs and a very large audiobahn amp without taking up all the room in the back. Is there any place that you would suggest to mount these (floorboards, spare tire area, panels etc)so I can still utilize some of my cargo area? Thanks in advance for your expertise. Jeff

Answer
No. Unless you are prepared to do major surgery on the truck cabin.  15s are really hard to place in an automobile unless they are going to be show units in the back of a van or something like that.

I suggest you trade them for a couple of kicker tubes that can be mounted under the seat areas.  They put out pretty good bass and they are either self powered or not.  YOu could use the audiobahn if you have room to mount it under the back seat area.  That is my suggestion.

AND: The 15s don't sound all that good unless they are baffled really good; which requires even more space!

You can get really good sound from the Kickers or Bazookas; give them a try.

This one above, really puts out and does not take up a lot of space.  Think about it.
