Hi, I'm piecing together a home theatre using older components
that I've been able to gather (trying to keep it cheap, as I'm a
student).  I have a Marantz receiver, and a set of Infinity and Aiwa
speakers.  The Infinity speakers are wired as the front speakers and
work fine.  I've mounted the Aiwa speakers (which I had from a
previous shelf system) on my walls as center/side speakers), but
have been unable to properly wire them so that they work.  Each
speaker has three wires coming out--a positive and negative
speaker wire, and another wire with an end similar to an RCA plug
(this wire is black and yellow).  Any suggestions on how to get this
to work?

Is there a model number on these?  that would help 100%

Answer
I cant find much of anything on these.  Sorry,  at first I was thinking the speaekers might have built in amplifiers. you'd put power on the plus and minus and signal on the rca plug but it doesnt appear to be this way acroding to what I found.  often older speakers had both plus and minus speaker wires and RCA, you could use either the same way.  Try hooking them up as if they were front speakers and see if that works.  You can also put a AA battery across the plus and minus and you should hear a click out of the speakers.  If so you know they work,  if not they may be blown.
Let me know if that helps!
