Audio Systems: Replacing stock speakers on a Durango, dodge durango, stock speakers

Question
It Looks like I am going to go with the Polk Audio db6500. Are there any online forums that have advice on the installation?

Something like that would come in handy.

Question -
Looking to replace the factory speakers on 2005 Dodge Durango. I am budget oriented and use ebay mostly.

Do you think I should just replace just the two front speakers and spend a little more money?

Are there any forums on replacing this models speakers?

Thanks,

Dave

Answer -
happy to help, I'm on a budget too, I love EBAY!!!
GO EBAY!

So anyway, you will get the best sound by concentrating on the front speakers. leave the rears alone and use the fade control to fade towards the front.  Component speakers sound the best but cost more and require more installation work so this is up to you.
My recomendation is to get these for the front:

they will require you to cut a hole for the tweeter if there isnt one already or run wires to put them up on your dash.

2nd best is these which wont require any extra effort but wont sound quite as good.

If you want links to both of these on ebay here you go:

#1 recomendation:

#2 recomendation (50 bucks!!!)

http://cgi.ebay.com/2006-NEW-ALPINE-SPS-17C2-6-5-2-WAY-SPEAKERS-250W-MAX_W0QQite

Good luck and tell me how it goes please!

Answer
I found this:

http://www.craigcentral.com/durango/speakers.asp

it's for a 2000 durango but almost all cars are very similar.  you find screws and take them out and the rest pops off when you pull on it.  usually the screws are inside where the interior door handle is and up under arm rests. stuff like that.  the bottoms usually just pop off.
unscrew the speaekrs, put in the new ones.  make sure you follow the directions on the polks for hooking up the crossover properly.  and be carefull when cutting a hole for the tweeter.
Let me know how it goes!
