Audio Systems: memory wire for a head unit, sony cd player, memory wire

Question
I have installed a sony CD player in a mates corsa, it works but doesn't save stored radio stations when you turn the car off and also ejects the CD every time the car is turned on.
I am thinking it is a problem with the memory wire, could you tell me how if the memory wire runs straight from the head unit to the battery of if there is anything else I should be aware of.

Yes the memory wire (usually yellow but sometimes pink or something else) should be connected directly to the battery's posative teminal OR can be connected to anything that has power even when the car is turned off.  If you have connected it like this and it still doesnt work, check and see if the memory wire has a fuse on it.  sometimes the wire will have a little box on the wire that can be opened and there's a fuse inside that may have blown.
