Nissan Repair: repair costs, canister purge valve, vacuum hoses

Question
I ran a diagnostic on a pathfinder and found the following codes
P0325
P1448
P0440
about how much would getting these things fixed cost?

Answer
Nick,

The first one, P0325, is the knock sensor.  Replace it as these tend to go bad on Nissan cars.  Check the link below for the knock sensor.  Around $75 bucks.  Others are cheaper but I suspect the quality of these.  autopartswarehouse.com rockauto.com or courtesyparts.com are all good sources.

The second one, P1448, is vent control valve.  Either the canister purge valve is defective or the vehicle has been overfilled and the canister that catches vapors is overflowing with gas.  If you top off the tank this is a possibility.  After you correct the other two disconnect the battery for five minutes.  If this code stays gone you are in luck.  If not, replace the valve.

The third one, P0440, is a small evaporative leak.  This one is part of the P1448 code.  Several years Nissan god a bad batch of vacuum hoses and if there are rotted vent lines to and from the gas tank will set this code.  Also, a loose or bad gas cap or a defective or loose hose clamp will cause this code too.
