Question
Does an amplifier clip because it doesn't have enough current going to it or because it can't produce the power you're asking from it. if both could be right how do oyu find out which one it is?

Answer
It is possible for both to cause it.
It is easiest to turn down the amp to see if that is causing the problem (and on moderately powered amps, that is usually the problem).
If it stops clipping, problem solved.

If your charging system cannot provide the required current, it will need upgrading.
