Audio Systems: pioneer avh5700dvd, how to use a voltmeter, yukon denali

I just put pioneers avh5700 in a 2001 yukon denali and im not getting any sound i have every whire connected even the blue on the harnest to the blu and white on the avh5700 what else do u suggest i do?

First, go to www.installdr.com and check the wiring procedures for you vehicle.

Next, if you know how to use a voltmeter, purchase a small vom (Walmart for under $10) and just check the lines for 12 volts or not.  If not you must find out why or where the miswiring is happening.  It is not a hard thing to do.  

To check the voltage, put the neg side of the voltmeter to chassis ground and the positive lead to the wire you want to know if there is 12 volts or not. (You may have to put the probe of the voltmeter down inside the connector to make contact with a wire in question - and you may have to stand on your head to get under the dash to check the wires in question!)

For example, if you have a wrong wiring harness it may use different color wires....
