Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Bradford rototiller belts, briggs and stratton, rototiller

Question
Hello, I am looking for the belts that would be on a Bradford 28" rototiller.  5hp Briggs and Stratton.  The data plate on the rototiller says model 53493500 PB3 and serial number 6-98061.  It has reverse and forward with 2 belts.  Is there any way to find out what size the belts are?  I was hoping I could find out the information without attempting to measure the belts run around the pulleys and then guess.  Any information would be helpful on this type of rototiller.

Thank you,
Steve

Answer
Hello Steve:

>>Your Only Recourse is to Run a Rope as you Described and then go to your Local Automotive Parts Retailer and Purchase a Belt Using the Measurement you get with the Rope. Tell them that you Use a Rope to Get the Measurements and they have a Chart that will get you Close to the Correct Belt.
>>Usually it will Take 3 or 4 Belts to get the Correct Size.
>>These Tillers are Obsolete/Antique and Almost All the Information on the Tiller Itself is Rare to Non Exsistent.
>>The Engines Used (mostly Briggs and Stratton) are USually Easy to Locate Parts for.
>>You can Use the Site Addys at this Site Addy; http://www.yetmans.mb.ca/antiques.html to Search and Locate New/Used Parts for this Unit.
>>Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag, if I Missed Something or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
