Audio Systems: bose system, car chassis, stock system

Question
94 corvette I have replaced my cdm the new problem now is when I turn up the sound more than half way up the speakers kick on and off.I went to each speaker and unpluged one at a time to see if I could isolate the problem. This made no differance.Should I buy one new speaker amp and try the one speaker at a time thing again.I hate to keep throwing money at this thing but I really want to keep the stock system.

Answer
The amp maybe cutting out due to a thermal condition. It probalby needs some repair or maintenance.  OR, it is possible the output transisters have lost their thermal glue which keeps them cool.  In which case a good technician can regrease them and keep them cool.   Cost is not so much.

Also, is it possible you have a pinched wire on one of the speaker lines?   You can check it with a simple ohmmeter; look for shorts to other speakers or to car chassis ground.

Let me know if you need more.
