Hyundai Repair: fans, coolant temperature, radiator fans

Question
The fans in my 96 hyundai accent are not turning and the water in the radiator is not circulating. they are electric fans and i am wondering if these two things are connected and how do i fix it?

Answer
The water won't cirulate until your car reaches operating temperature.  If the water still doesn't circulate after it reaches operating temperature, then you most likely need to replace the thermostat.

The radiator fans are activated by the ECM based on coolant temperature.  If you have an air pocket in the engine, which is possible if you've overheated the car due to the coolant not circulating, then it may not be able to correctly read the coolant temparature, and may not turn on the fans.  If you have a/c, turn it on and check the fans.  They should be running when the a/c is on.
