Whats the best way to run an amp power wire from your trunk to your bttery in an olde car late eighties. I ran it inside all the way to the fron door then out and under the hood so that 1 inch or so is showing and I would like to have it all inside. Any ideas are muchly apriciated. Thank you.

Please specify year make and model.  Usually there is a rubber "plug" in the firewall that you can push your wire through and it will come out down by your pedals or under your glove box depending on your vehicle.  from here you can run the wires under the carpet. when you open your doors there should be a cover piece that removes with a few screws down at the bottom of the floor.
this piece holds the carpet down. removing it will allow you lift the carpet up and "snake" the wire under it.  usually you will see other factory wires going from front to back here, just follow them and you'll get there.

I got the wire from the trunk all the way to the firewall and cannot find a way through it. Do you know where i could find a picture/diagram of my cars firewall. Thanks for any more help you can give me.

Answer
Hmm.  There has to be a hole.  look under the hood and try to find a bunch of wires or a fuse block with wires coming out.  these wires have to head inside the car so follow them and use the hole where they enter.
If you absolutely cant find it you can try VERY CAREFULLY to cut a hole.  make sure you use a rubber gromet around the hole to keep the metal from cutting into the wire. stay near the outer area and not near the center or you could drill into your heater core!
