Audio Systems: 1997 Grand Caravan CD Player Install, amp section, correct colors

Question
I bought a CD player and conversion kit to replace the factory tape/CD player in my Grand Caravan.  I matched all the wires to the correct colors on the conversion kit.  I get sound in the front speakers and in the back speakers, but am getting no sound in the four middle speakers.  All the speakers work with the factory tape/CD player, so what might I need to do to get them to work with the new CD player?  Thank you for any light you can shed on this issue.

Answer
You might try installdr.com for some pictures.

is for your car.

And, if you have a simple vom (you can buy them at Radio Shack or Walmart for under $10) you can check the continuity of the wires you have connected.  Just follow the output connections of the amplifier and check for continuity to the speaker connection with the ohmmeter in the vom. Then alter the wires so they are connected to the right speaker.  You may have to change the pins in the plugs or cut the wires and move them to the proper one.  It will require you to solder the wires back together and tape them or sleeve them  up so there is no possibility of bare wires shorting out anywhere.

Finally, is it possible the unit is defective?  You can check each amp section out by using a twisted pair connected to one output at a time and the other end connected to any raw speaker to prove that sound is coming out of each amp.

Hope this helps.
